According to Akwaaba UK group member DJ Mensah, the group would not take a backseat to dancehall artist Stonebwoy’s planned album tour in the UK on March 8.
On February 20, 2025, DJ Mensah emphasized in an interview with Hitz FM that the Akwaaba gang has no plans to ruin Stonebwoy’s performance.
They won’t, however, alter the date of their own event.
He stressed that Akwaaba UK has been arranging a concert every Independence Day and, as such, will not modify the scheduled date for their event.
“I am speaking for Akwaaba, and even as DJ Mensah, who works with Akwaaba, I just want to make things clear that we are not here to sabotage anybody. We won’t back down for anyone, and the event will take place,” he declared.
Additionally, he stated that the group is amenable to working with Stonebwoy on upcoming performances.
His remarks follow Chief Stylz, Stonebwoy’s manager, recently accusing the Akwaaba UK team and Alordia of plotting to “sabotage” the musician’s UK album tour.
