“Based on the images and expert opinion sent by Real Madrid, it has NOT been able to prove that he says “F*ck Off” instead of “F*ck You.” The ref’s report is presumed to be true and the appeal fails”, the report from Committee reports.

Real Madrid Set to Appeal Jude Bellingham’s Two-Game Ban

Real Madrid is preparing to appeal the Spanish Football Federation’s (RFEF) Competition Committee’s decision to suspend Jude Bellingham for two matches following his red card against Osasuna. The midfielder was shown a red card in the dying moments of the 1-1 draw on February 15, allegedly for verbally abusing the referee, José Luis Munuera Montero.

The referee’s report claims that Bellingham directed offensive language towards him, leading to the ban. However, Real Madrid contests this interpretation, arguing that the Englishman’s words were misunderstood due to linguistic differences. The club insists that Bellingham’s remarks, though made in frustration, were not intended as direct abuse.

This ruling means that Bellingham will miss crucial La Liga fixtures against Girona and Real Betis. Given his influential role in Real Madrid’s midfield, his absence could significantly impact their title race. The club is expected to argue that the punishment is excessive and that the referee’s account lacks sufficient evidence to warrant such a suspension.

The controversy has also led to backlash against referee Munuera Montero, who has reportedly received online abuse following the incident. The RFEF has condemned these threats, standing by their match official.

Real Madrid will submit their appeal in the coming days, hoping to reduce or overturn the ban. As the legal battle unfolds, the footballing world will be watching closely to see whether the Spanish giants can keep their star player available for these crucial matches.
