Berla Mundi, a distinguished journalist, delves deeply into the reasons behind her decision to leave either TV3 or GHOne TV for the first time.
The renowned media figure revealed on August 15, 2019, that she was leaving EIB Network to join Media General.
Ghanaians were curious as to why she left the media organisation that had given her training and possibilities to advance her career.
A few years later, Berla clarified in a widely shared video that while leaving GHOne was a tough decision, she ultimately had to go in favour of a larger platform.
Because of the relationship she had with the media company, she said that she was nervous to cut her connections.
Although she found it difficult to get what she needed while working at GHOne, Berla Mundi revealed that she was hesitant to leave because of her sense of devotion to the organisation.
In her bio, the award-winning TV show host revealed that she left GHOne because she was dissatisfied at one point when things went south and her coworkers began to treat her badly.
“The last few years of my employment at GHOne were difficult. I thought the platform had reached a ceiling and was no longer able to provide me with what I wanted.
I was reluctant to jump to leave, though. Considering that GHOne was where my career as a broadcast journalist had started, I felt obligated to the organisation.
I felt as though I owed them something—a debt or my career—from the beginning till that moment in my life. Things had gotten harder and harder, so I was thinking about making a shift. I was no longer content in that environment,” she said.
Berla Mundi disclosed that, in spite of her concerns, TV3 made her an offer, which she first accepted but later declined.
