Following four rounds of fighting, Nigerian singer Portable, actual name Habeeb Badmus, was proclaimed the winner of the celebrity boxing bout against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha.
The fight, which was approved by Heritage Boxing Entertainment, took place at Landmark Beach in Victoria Island, Lagos State, around one in the morning and lasted for about forty minutes.
The two had ultimately made up with their fists after Portable claimed to have contractual issues, which led to them getting into an online spat over a purported N40 million rip-off.
Portable accused Okocha of defrauding him of the money by sending him only a tiny amount, in violation of a contract.
Portable surged ahead early in the first round and maintained a commanding advantage.
He had on a blue pair of pants and a sleeveless top.
Furthermore, he took total command of the ring and attempted to gauge his range by throwing several jabs at Okocha’s body, who was dressed in red shorts and a shirt.
After he had been sidestepping Portable’s attacks, Okocha returned to the fight in Round Two, and everything seemed to be going his way.
Throughout the bout, Okocha gained more ground than Portable did, and while knowing he would win, he was focused on scoring more points.
His jabs even managed to take down Portable, so the referee had to step in.
In Round Three, Okocha pursued Portable as he dashed around the ring, attempting to see if he could reenter the fight.
Portable used the little respite between rounds to shoot back at the hits he was taking from the combat.
In Round Four, Okocha was taken off guard by Portable’s consistent straight strikes, even though both celebrity boxers were exhausted.
When the referee said that Round Five would decide the winner, Portable was eventually named the victor, both of them declined to continue.
Though he lost by TKO, KO, or even points scored, Portable earned the championship and solidified his place as the legitimate winner of the fiercely contested bout.
