In an interview with OKAY FM, Mr. Mustafa Gbande reportedly stated that his party’s members needed to be ready to defend their votes in the approaching general election of 2024.

” . . they think the way to go is violence so I’ve told our leaders that if possible let’s prepare twice the NPP and wait for them, when you are going to the polling station put a cutlass in your pocket . . . if we do, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will not be able to misbehave toward us.”

This, he noted is the only way to guarantee a free and fair elections.

However, the police in a statement said they would investigate Mustafa Gbandi and take legal action.

“We wish to assure the public that under our watch no one will be allowed to undermine the peace, security, law and order in our beloved country,” a portion of their statement said.
